ANALYTICS EXPERT ART ASRIEV JOINS SJLS AS SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT

Firm Continues to Build Quantitative Analytics Function with Top Talent

Matthew Levinson, Chairman and CEO of SJ Levinson & Sons, today announced that Art Asriev has joined the firm as Senior Vice President. 

As Senior Vice President, Mr. Asriev will work closely with Matthew Celebuski, Senior Managing Director of the firm's newly-formed Quantitative Analytics group, to develop and apply sophisticated trading support and performance measurement tools.

"We are very fortunate to have Art joining our team," stated Mr. Levinson.  "With more than a decade of hands-on experience developing state-of-the-art analytic tools, Art brings a wealth of important experience and expertise to our new Quantitative Analytics platform and further strengthens our ongoing efforts to providing clients with superior execution," he concluded.

Prior to joining SJLS, Art was head of Equity Quantitative Research (EQR) at Bear Stearns, responsible for all analytic and algorithmic equity trading support. Earlier, he was manager of the financial engineering group at Investment Technology Group, a senior research associate with Applied Insurance Research, and a statistical analyst and software developer at Geerlings & Wade.  Before that, he was a senior research fellow at the Central Economics and Mathematics Institute of the Russia Academy of Sciences, and, earlier, an associate professor at the Moscow Aerospace Engineering Institute.  During this time, he also served part-time as mathematician and engineer on the Soviet-American STAT-DIALOG project.  He holds a PhD in Mathematics and Masters Degree in Applied Mathematics from the M.V. Lomonsov Moscow University Department of Applied Mathematics and Cybernetics.
